6 months later ....

WTH!  I can't believe it's been almost 6 months since I lasted posted but then again I can because growing a tiny human while raising two other tiny humans is HARD WORK!  Oh right....it's been 6 months so this is the first time that I'm mentioning that we're expecting Swiftly Growing Baby #3.  Is this our last you ask? Ummmmm....it's still up for debate.  Hubz says yes, I say not sure.  Once again I was hella sick at the beginning, until about 18 weeks.  It was miserable, as usual, but now I'm doing better and hitting 23 weeks tomorrow.

So other than growing another wee one what's been going on around the Swiftly Growing household? Well, Hubz is just about done with school, FINALLY!  He'll graduate in June.  The step-son is almost through his second year of high school and it's hard to believe that this summer we'll start talking about colleges.  The burrito and my little divalicious are growing steadily.  The Burrito starts school in August, ALREADY! I'm in complete denial about it but he's ready and excited.

I'm just trudging along trying to keep everyone alive and thriving.  I guess I'm succeeding since everyone seems in pretty good spirits, most days.  I have missed this little space so I'm planning to do better at keeping it updated. Until next time....

Time

You know what I'm learning as I get better at this Parenting thing?  Time is fleeting and goes faster than we'd like. Every day my kids are changing & growing and I feel like I'm not taking enough time to enjoy this current season because I'm always overwhelmed by EVERYTHING there is to do. I don't ever want to look back and think I wish I'd done better, and really right now that's how I feel.  I wish I'd done better at not yelling because I was so tired and felt like my life was spiraling out of control.  I wish I'd handle that situation better and not overreacted.  It feels like my life is a constant series of I wish statements...even though every nite I go to bed thinking I'll do better tomorrow, one day there won't be a tomorrow?

This blog was meant to be a way for me to keep track of my life as a Momma and Wife but for almost 3 months I've neglected it because I just can't get enough time.  I guess the fact that I choose to make face time with my kids more important is good so I shouldn't be too disappointed.

Ugh...well here's hoping I can find the time to be more attentive of this chronicle.  If not, guess I'll see ya in another 3 months.

Patience

This year I'm not doing resolutions that I'll break within a week into the new year.  Instead I'm picking a word to make my theme of the year.  This seems a little more doable for me.  It'll be a word that I can work into most aspects of my life and hopefully by the end of the year I'll be a better person for trying it.

When I was younger and I wanted things to happen RIGHT now my Mom would always tell me, "Patience is a virtue," but she was my Mom and I thought she was crazy.  However, now that I'm a grown-up, or pretend to be one, I wish that patience was a virtue that I more easily embraced.   For this reason I've decided that I'm embracing patience as my theme for 2014.

My kids are only going to be so little for a short time.  Before I know it they won't need me to help them get dressed or snuggle them.  I want to cherish this time and not feel like I'm always trying to just get through something.  This goes for other aspects of my life too.  In my marriage where I want my husband to do everything on my time.  In my weight loss journey where I just want this damn weight to melt off, I mean really it took it longer than 30 minutes to gain why can't I be patient in taking it off?

I won't promise to be prefect in practicing patience every day but I can promise to try my best each day.  I don't want spend 2014 wishing that I'd done better so I'm going to live my own advice and remember that everyday is a day to do better than the day before.

MIA...

Seriously!  2 months since I last touched this page and while I know it's because life is crazy, although it's slowed down some, it still makes me sad.  This is my place to decompress a little. So I'm vowing to get back to it.  NaBloPoMo (National Blog Post Month) started on the 1st, I'm behind which is really the story of my life anymore, so I'm going to start today.  Last year I did pretty well getting one post a day and this is a big month for the Swiftly Growing house, Baby Girl turns 1 next week!  That means I have a least a weeks worth or posts and not to mention I still need to get her 10/11 months posts up...sigh, I really am overwhelmed by life!  I'm vowing to take the next two months 1 day at a time, otherwise I may completly have a melt down, and just in case the wine rack is stocked!

So I'm back, hopefully full time at least for this month. And I'm hoping at least 2-3 times a week after that but hey I'm a Momma and Wife and a million other things and sometimes life just gets crazy.

Happy Thursday, ya'll! Oh here's a little cuteness!

3 Years Old - The Bean

3 years ago a tiny little bundle made his appearance after 18 hours of labor and an unplanned C-section.  My first thought upon seeing you was that I was glad you were here but sad your head was pointy, what can I say I'm a little vain.  But once I got out of the operating room and into recovery, where you and your daddy had already spent an hour bonding, I felt my heart overflow with a love I'd never felt.  It was true that becoming a Momma, your Momma, changed me in ways that I can never explain.  Of course after 3 days at home you spent the next 10 in the PICU, where for about 5 days you literally fought for your life.  Eventually you came home and being your Momma has been one of my biggest joys.

Your first year seemed to speed by and before I knew we were celebrating your second birthday.  Between then and now you've become a big brother and such a big boy. Everyday is a new day and I never know what that day is going to be like.  And oh what a big brother you are.  I know that forever and always your little sister will always have you in her corner.  There are people that will say that only children are just as happy as siblings but they'll never make me believe it.  Siblings teach us how to love someone other than our self, unconditionally.  And unconditionally is exactly how you love your sister.  Of course I know in about 10 years you two will "hate" each other but that's all part of the circle of life because 10 years after that you'll have a whole new relationship, as adult siblings, and that's something even I can't explain.

Now here we are celebrating your third year and I can't help but tear up a little, I cry a lot more since you made me a Momma.  My tears are happy tears though.  I'm happy to know that you're a well adjusted, happy loving little boy. I know that the next year will probably be full of ups and downs but that's just life. I can already tell it maybe our most challenging yet but that's only because you're starting to assert your independence, which is too be expected, and considering who your parents are I expect it to be a little bumpy from here on out but at the end of the year when I'm writing about this third year we're embarking on I know the only thing I'll remember are the good things.

My dear sweet boy I hope this next year brings you such growth and memories.  But mostly I hope that you know and always remember that no matter how big you get you'll always be my sweet little Bean.  My first born.

I love you forever and always.

Mother's Day

I'm not sure how it's already halfway through May, especially since I feel like we were just celebrating the New Year.  Of course I'm sure the crazy weather we've been having here in Virginia isn't helping.  But alas halfway through May it is which means this weekend is Mother's Day.  I don't really go into Mother's Day with high hopes of relaxation and nothingness because that's just not my life.  Like my birthday I like to think of it as a day that's supposed to be all about me but in reality I'll still be up at least twice with baby girl for feedings and up by 730 or 8 watching Disney Junior with the toddler.  By 9 I'll be running around trying to get the teenager and Hubz up so we can get everyone ready for Church and out of the door on time.  It's just my life and I've resigned my self to the fact that days all about me are in the past, at least until all my littles are had and not so little anymore.  I'm mostly okay with it.

A few years ago we (I) started an annual Mother's Day Brunch at our house.  It's a chance for us as a family to get together and celebrate all the Moms of the family at once and then let everyone go off and do their own thing.  It's worked out great because it leaves the afternoon free for us all to spend the day with our individual families to do whatever we want, for me I'm hoping for a whole lot of nothing. Every one brings something and then I'm not stuck with all the prep, just with all the clean-up.  Unfortunately, not everyone embraces this time to spend with family for the Moms in our lives but most of them do and that's good enough for me.

This time of year always makes me nostalgic. I mean how is it that I've been out of college for 8 years? and yet it feels like just yesterday I was off to on ELITE leadership retreat in Tampa to begin my freshman year. but then I blinked and I was a momma and a wife. I'll tell anyone that will listen that college was 4 of the best years of my life but these last 3 years as a momma & before that a step-mom, they're quickly surpassing those 4 years. My college self would never believe who we've become but oh to be a momma to these kids.  These kids make me a better person, even when they're driving me nuts.

It's true we don't realize the strength of a Mother's love until you are one.

Happy Mother's Day!

Ramblings ...Again

Once again I've left my blog without words for far too long, at least for my liking, so now to get things caught up.  It's been a busy couple of weeks in the Swiftly Growing house and things don't look to be slowing down.

The step-son has kept us especially busy with band performances and Boy Scout duties.  He'll finish up middle school in the next couple of weeks and then be starting high school in the fall so I know this is only the beginning of the crazy schedule he'll be keeping.  While it's sometimes equal parts exhausting and exhausting I wouldn't change it.  I remember this time in my life and before we know it he'll be headed off to college and we'll miss the pace of our lives with constantly running him around.  Of course the slow pace will be short lived before our wee ones are requiring the Momma/Daddy taxi service.

****
My niece, and Hubz's, Goddaughter, celebrated her 1st Communion last weekend. It made me smile with nostalgia and look forward to when I'm celebrating the same milestone with my wee ones.  It's funny how as a parent we start to look forward to things that we barely remember as kids but becoming a parent makes it all so much clearer.

****
It's a big weekend for Baby Girl.  Tomorrow she'll be getting Baptized.  It's a little later than I would have liked but still earlier than her brother.  Maybe with the next baby I'll get it within that 3 month window.  Of course as is the case with big gatherings I'm not even close to ready.  Baby Girl has a chest cold or allergies or something so she's been a little clingy this week making it very difficult to get anything done.  Luckily today's my early day so I'll be running errands after work before picking up the kids and then doing tons of prep and cleaning tonite.  Tomorrow my day will start at 6 since I have to pick-up bagels and donuts and then get back to the house in time to get everyone up and dressed and out the door by 930.  I'll be ready for a nap with the lady of the hour by the time everyone leaves.

****
Next weekend should be a nice slow weekend with nothing but yard work, my husband is a slave driver.  It'll all be worth it when our yard finally looks nice but just thinking about it makes me groan.  I wish we could just pay someone to do it, not that that would ever happen since Hubz has a love/hate relationship with yard work.  He hates it but doesn't want anyone else to do it because they won't do it right...I don't understand this.

Make it a great weekend.

Boston, oh Boston

Once again our country has been hit with a senseless act of violence with no explanation about why but plenty of questions. Today as runners were finishing the Boston Marathon, a run that many train a year for, a bomb went off, followed closely by a second. Police would later find at least two more that had not been detonated. As I'm writing this post 3 people have already died and countless others have been injured, some in critical condition.

As with the events of Sandy Hook I'm having problems processing how anyone could plan and carry out something so horrendous!? What brings someone to a point In their own lives where they think nothing about taking the lives of innocent people? I wonder if they thought about the countless lives their actions would affect and if they even hesitated for a moment.

My heart hurts thinking of his world I'm leaving to my kids, my nieces and nephews and future generations. I shed tears for the innocence that is lost every time something so senseless happens but the. I read something on face book that reminds that we are nation of survivors. That we as a nation don't take things lying down, we fight back and we lean on each other and these reminders they give me hope. Hope that just maybe it's all going to be okay not perfect but okay.

So to tonite as I'm nursing my baby girl to sleep I'll probably rock her a little longer and hold her a little closer but simply because before I know it she'll off into a world that isn't always kind but that always gets back up when it's pushed down. As I I'm reading a story to my little terror I'll hug and snuggle him a little longer but only because I know what's waiting for him.

Rest easy Bostonians you have an entire nation behind you. We weep for you, we pray for, we mourn for you and we fight for you. We are after all, "One Nation Under God."

Ramblings ...

I keep telling my self that I'm going to get better about blogging, then my life overwhelms me again and well 3 weeks go by before I find time to blog.  It kind of makes me sad because this is supposed to be my place to get my thoughts out and chronicle my kids lives and my life but the one thing I want to be sure to have memories of is the one thing that keeps me from doing it.  It's a vicious cycle really.

****
I found a new blog several months ago that speaks to my heart, Momastry.  Glennon, the writer, has a way with words that brings tears to my eyes and shaking my head in complete agreement with everything she says.  She hasn't had an easy life and she's completely upfront about that but she also knows that God, her faith in something bigger than us, is what guides her and leads her and allows her continue to try.  Like I said she speaks to my heart.

****
The Bean is in full blown terrible twos and most days I just don't handle it well.  There's too much yelling, by us both, and not enough laughing and just being.  I'm trying to get a handle on it and just when I think I do, I realize I don't.  I'm trying to remember that this stage is normal, I even read an article that said so, but oh how it trys my already frazzled nerves.  Luckily I know everyday is another day to do better, for both of us.

****
Sweet baby girl is still sweet and cute and I'm cherishing every minute.  As crazy as it sounds I'm sad that we won't be ready for #3 as soon as I would like but that just means she gets to be my baby a little longer.  She recently started flipping from her tummy to her back.  At first she was not happy about it but now she's all smiles and coos after she does it, she's so proud of herself.  She's on the verge of starting to laugh as well, I can't wait to see what things really get her going.  I can't believe she'll be 5 months in a couple of weeks.

****
In June Hubz and I will be together for 10 years!  It's crazy that it seems like forever and not forever all at the same time.  I was hoping to pull something special together for us but with an impending furlough, a car that it appears it may need a new transmission, summer camp for the step-son and bills that's highly unlikely to happen. Why is that to the two most inconvenient, money sucking things always wind up to happen at the same time?  We're hoping the warranty we got with the car will cover most if not all of the transmission problem but to be honest I'm not hopeful just because that's our life and when it rains it pours.

****
So there's my ramblings and goings on for the last three weeks.  I really am going to try and be better, although I'm not sure why I'm worried about it since I don't really have any followers.  Of course with the broken transmission comes me being the one that gets to do Daycare drop off and pick-up...HOORAY! Not really since that also means not rest for the weary, or the Momma, since the Hubz basically won't have to do anything on weekdays except sleep in and get home late, which is what he does now anyway.  It only sucks a little.

Happy Monday!  Don't let anyone fool ya, it is after all April Fools.

Give Me Back My Hour

Daylight savings robbed me of an hour this week and it completely showed in my Mommaness.  This week I was a bad Momma.  I was short tempered, cranky and yelled more than I'd like to admit.  It's a good thing I don't strive to be perfect otherwise I'd probably be in a corner somewhere.

My kids, eh, they were barely affected by the time change but between waking every 3-4 hours with Miss Lady and that loss of an hour it took me until Friday to get my bearings, even with coffee.  It makes me angry and sad with myself that I let something like the loss of an hour affect me like that but what's done is done and I just have to move on with it.

Now it's the weekend and we've got great things planned.  Like dinner with my sisters and their families, poker for the hubz with his brother and friends and some QT time with my sisters-in-laws. I refuse to let the bad week put me in a bad place so I'm focusing on the good that did happen and that's that my kids now I love them and they're still a live.

Happy weekend.

Treading Water

I've been back to work for 3 weeks, really almost 4 at this point, and I feel like I'm barely treading water.  This mothering of two wee ones and a teenager ain't no joke.  And if we're really being honest, which I am, I feel like I'm barely making it work.  I'm up between 345 and 430, Monday thru Friday and lucky to be in bed by 930, assuming little miss is cooperating.  From the time I wake up until the time I lay down it's pretty much go, go, go and someone's always needing something..ALWAYS! I barely have time to use the bathroom let alone take a breath.

Oh so now let's add into this madness the fact that I may or may not be losing 4 days a month from my paycheck, thanks for that Congress, and the stress factor up in here is just about to boil over.  Which is why when I woke up with a migraine on Tuesday I wasn't all that suprised, I actually had been expecting it.  So now I do what I do best, adjust and get on with it.  I'm not sure what I thought mothering two wee ones was going to be like, easy not so much but maybe not quite so overwhelming but hey with barely a minute to breathe I don't have much time to wallow in it.

On the days when it becomes to much I'm going to remember something I just read from one of my favorite blogs, Enjoying the Small Things. The Momma, Kelle Hampton, was talking about her tranistion from two to three kids, she just had the cutest little boy to add to her beautiful family, and she said "Life does not lend itself to smooth transitions."  It's like God knew I need something to remind me that we do the best we can and that's what I'm doing, even if some days I don't feel like it.

And just to keep it all in prespective these two just need me to love them.  Everything else will fall into place, won't it?

I love them.

3 weeks

Today as I was sitting at work it hit me that if Dumpling is like his/her big brother it's possible I could have a new baby in about 3 weeks.  The bean was born at exactly 38 weeks, I'll 35 weeks on Saturday!  Hubz thought it was funny that once again I was surprised at how close the impending arrivals arrival actually was.

3 weeks!  It that time we have a wedding, maternity pictures, birthday party and Thanksgiving.  Oh and let's not forget we're still working and Hubz has school and the step-son has his numerous things that he needs to be taken to or we need to attend, but well I'm not all that worried.  I've set a goal to accomplish one or two little things a day.  Today I took out the infant car seat and their bases and put the cover back on, of course it now looks like we're missing a piece to the car seat so we'll have to find the piece or get a new car seat, I'm hoping we can just find the piece but I'm not optimistic since Hubz didn't even know what I was talking about when I said it was missing.  I'm also FINALLY going to get our suitcase unpacked from our Anniversary trip back the beginning of October.  While really it should be Hubz doing this since it's mostly his crap if I wait on him the baby will be here and I have tons of mess on that side of the room that needs to be taken care of so we can bring in the bassinet and swing, which are both next on the list to come out of storage so their respective covers and stuff can be cleaned and they can be brought to our room.

3 weeks isn't a ton of time but it's enough to get done what needs to be done and continue with life as normal, or as normal as it can be when the Momma's 35 weeks pregnant and taking care of a lot of things solo.  I figure is something doesn't get done before Dumpling's arrival then it'll get done after.  As long as my breast pump has all it's necessary parts and pieces and the bassinet, swing and car seat are good to go we're golden and that'll all be taken care of in the next week or so.  Oh I should probably pack my hospital bag sometime during that 3 weeks too, just to be on the safe side, huh.  Although last time I didn't get a bag packed until the day my water broke and I went into labor so....

I Voted

I got my vote on.  This is the fourth election I've voted in but the first that I was the most nervous about. I knew it was going to be close but in the end my guy prevailed!  Sure there are people that aren't happy, but hey that was a given.  Me I'm ecstatic.  I'm happy to know that we have 4 more years to continue to move forward and make this country better.  That we have 4 more years that women are safe from extremists trying to force us back to the 1950s.

I don't talk to politics, with anyone..EVER!  Simply because in college I had someone tell me I deserve to die because I was pro-choice and pro-gay rights.  What always makes me chuckle is that 4 years later, just before we graduated, that same person had "come-out" and eventually even apologized.  However, that one person turned me off from EVER wanting to discuss my views.  i get it that people are passionate about where they stand on issues and I respect that but I also realize that not everyone is that way, just look at Facebook.

I will say that I'm glad that this political season is over.  I'd grown weary of the TV/radio ads, numerous phone calls, ignorant and down right ridiculous Facebook and Twitter posts and the constant barking of my dogs because of the people at my door.  Mostly I'm glad I can "like" some of my friends again. Because of my rule not to discuss politics I never knew where some of them stood and was sad to find out they were some of the ignorant and ridiculous but that's okay I'm still happy to call them friends because we have so many other things to talk about besides politics, otherwise we wouldn't be friends.

New Phone

I'm so excited I'm getting a new cell phone.  I know it's not a big deal to most people but my poor dinosaur of a phone needs a serious upgrade and Hubz has said he'll pay for my upgrade as my birthday present.  So I'm upgrading to the iPhone 4S.  I went back and forth about getting the 5, the newest edition available, but I can't really justify the extra $100 it costs over the 4S all for a bigger screen and faster processor.  2 things that don't really matter to me, especially considering anything is better then the 3S that my MIL so graciously passed on to me about a year ago when she upgraded and I was desperately in need of a new phone after the Bean threw my BlackBerry in a cup of hot chocolate.

With the new phone comes tons of apps I can download now, there are so many that my poor 3S wasn't compatible with.  Not to mention better pictures of my boy and Dumpling, when he/she gets here.  Also, it'll give Hubz some stocking stuffer ideas come Christmas time, since I know he tends to have issues coming up with stocking stuffers.

Now I just have to wait for it to get ordered and delivered ....  SO EXCITED!

Momma Friends

Most of my friends are family, I like it that way because for the most part you trust family to always be there.  I have a handful of friends that I'm not related to by marriage or blood and I've known them for years so to me they're like family because I'd trust them with my life, I'd trust them with my children and that's saying a lot.  However, sometimes I wish I had some Momma friends.  Some ladies that know what it's like to work and juggle this Momma job with a husband that works crazy hours, with no sign of that ever changing.  Maybe it wouldn't feel so lonely all the time.

31

Yesterday was my birthday and really 31 doesn't feel that much different that 30, well ya know except the fact that this year I'm growing this little Dumpling and last year I celebrated by drinking tons of champagne and other grown-up libations.

Birthdays are definitely different when you're an adult and a Momma to boot.  Other than birthday wishes on Facebook and through text and a card from my mom and bestie there was really any celebrating.  No presents, well except the gift I gave myself of trying to cut my finger off...it's a long story,  or cake.  And while I might be a little bummed about it my birthday is on Halloween which really is more about the kids than me so, what can you do.  My boy was the cutest little Bob-omb:

And these memories are ones that I'll gladly take even if it means that my birthday kind of gets pushed to the back burner.

So now we're in November and the count down is on for the arrival of Dumpling and the holidays.  Every year I say it but, where did the year go?  We've got things to get done and maybe they'll get done and maybe they won't be all I know is that in about 45 days or so I'll be bringing home a new babe to start new memories and who this time next year will be one more reason why my birthday is pushed to the back burner.

Dumpling Weeks 32/33

How far along? 33 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: Gained a pound last week! Still at a loss though with 9 according to the dr and 14 if you count the five I lost before I started appointments

Maternity clothes? ummm...heck yes and I have been since about 9 weeks, but I'm still also wearing a lot of non-maternity too, mostly in tops.  Of course I'm not sure what I"m going to do now that it's starting to get cold.
Stretch marks? no new ones.

Sleep: I'm sleeping just not great, partially because I have to get up to pee multiple times a nite and partially because I'm almost 33 weeks pregnant
Best moment this week: Moving the Bean into his big boy room!  He did great.  We've had a rough week this week but I'm not sure if it's the new surroundings or teething/growth spurt. Either way it's exhausting and I'll be happy for it to be over.

Food cravings: This week it was the turkey cranberry panini from Panera, I had it for dinner last nite.  DELISH!  Overall though nothing that I just have to have every day.

Gender: no idea and we won't know until December when Dumpling makes his or her appearance.
Labor Signs: The Braxton Hicks are a little intense sometimes but other than that nothing and I'd like it to stay that way at least through for at least 4-5 more weeks.  We still have to get the bassinet and car seat out and cleaned and then Dumpling's welcome to come.

Belly Button in or out? I just call it my gully now. Although I don't even think that's the best way to describe it either since it's really just completely flat and Bean still insists on trying to shove his finger in it...OUCH!

What I miss: Wine or really any adult libations. I just need a good stiff drink.  <~still this...

What I am looking forward to: Getting the nursery set up, now that we've gotten the Bean moved into his big boy room it's time to get things set up for Dumpling and the Sprinkle that my sisters-in-law planned for me in a few weeks.  It's really just a reason for us to get together.

Weekly Wisdom: Things will fall into place when they need to and just like last time there's really nothing I can do about it.

Milestones: I got to sleep past 7am today...it's the little things.

Dumpling - 30/31 Weeks

How far along? 31 weeks, 1 day

Total weight gain/loss: Gained a pound last week!  Still at a loss though with 10 according to the dr and 15 if you count the five I lost before I started appointments

Maternity clothes? ummm...heck yes and I have been since about 9 weeks, but I'm still also wearing a lot of non-maternity too, mostly in tops.

Stretch marks? no new ones.

Sleep: I'm sleeping just not great, partially because I have to get up to pee at least once a nite and partially because I'm almost 32 weeks pregnant

Best moment this week: It was actually last weekend when Hubz and I went away to celebrate our 5 year wedding anniversary in Atlantic City.  We slept and relaxed and just hung out and enjoyed each other's company.  We haven't had even a weekend away just the two of us since our Honeymoon.

Food cravings: nothing really, food still isn't my FAVORITE thing ever but at least I can eat now.  Although Melting Pot last weekend for our Anniversary was quite delicious.!
Gender: no idea and we won't know until December when Dumpling makes his/her appearance
Labor Signs: The Braxton Hicks are a little intense sometimes but other than that nothing and I'd like it to stay that way at least through Thanksgiving.

Belly Button in or out? I just call it my gully now.  Although I don't even think that's the best way to describe it either since it's really just completely flat.

What I miss: Wine or really any adult libations.  I just need a good stiff drink.

What I am looking forward to: Getting the nursery set up, now that we've gotten the Bean moved into his big boy room it's time to get things set up for Dumpling.

Weekly Wisdom: Am at that point where I have to start reminding myself that everything that needs to get done will get done and before Dumpling gets here.

Milestones: Not really baby related but the Bean is in a toddler bed as of this weekend and doing great!

5 Years

5 years ago today the Hubz and I stood before family, friends and God and promised to love each other in good times and bad, until death do us part.  There were other things said, most I don't remember but these words they stick with me always.  It definitely hasn't been an easy 5 years between home buying, job loss, the Bean's birth and subsequent hospital stay and follow-ups and oh so many other things that are just part of life.  However, through it all we've always had each other.

When both of my sisters and my sister-in-law got married I told them that marriage wasn't easy, true story, and that it was something you had to work at everyday.  And work we do, some days are easier than others but always at the end of the day I wouldn't chose anyone else to share this adventure with.

Looking at pictures from that day I smile, laugh and cry (EVERY TIME)  at the memories and the love that surrounded.  We have a big ROWDY group of family and friends and they were all there to celebrate with us and we wouldn't have had it any other way.

So on this our 5 year wedding anniversary I hope the Hubz knows that I love him more today then I did that day five years ago and I'll love him more tomorrow then I did today.  And while some days I want to shake him, and I'm sure the feeling is mutual on his end about me, I'll always thank God that he brought him into my life just when I least expected it.  He teaches me to go with the flow and enjoy life and I teach him to be a grown-up :).  We may not have it all together (we really don't) but together we have it all.

Dumpling - 29 Weeks (2 days)

Somewhere, along the way of this pregnancy, I lost control of my life. It's slowly starting to drive me insane, like REALLY crazy, so I'm working on gaining back some of that.  However, I think the out of control is still winning.  What's even worse is I know that it's not going to get any better, what with adding a new baby and all.

Le sigh.

So that's why it's taken me 5 weeks to write an update on Dumpling.  Although I was only doing every 4 weeks anyway since that's when my appointments were but now where at 2 week appointments.  SAY WHAT!?  Yup I'll be visiting with fantastic OB every two weeks now, starting next Monday when I'll be 30 weeks, 2 days.  I'm not sure how this happened, this being almost 10 weeks from my due date with barely anything accomplished but alas it did and now I feel like I'm in hyper drive to get things done while still working and maintaining a home (although not very well) and maintaining my sanity (again not very well).

Oh well, ready or not Dumplings coming so I better get it together and soon because I think chances are good that this babe will be making an early appearance like big brother did 2 years ago.  Oh yeah that's right I have a two year and pictures to share from his birthday, ya know when I have time.

How far along? 29 weeks, 2 days

Total weight gain/loss: After my appointment a week and half ago I'm down two more pounds which brings  me down  11 pounds to the doctor but if I include the 5 pounds I'd lost before I started my appointments at 9 weeks it's really 16pounds. I now weigh less than I did when I got pregnant with the Bean.

Maternity clothes? ummm...heck yes and I have been since about 9 weeks, but I'm still also wearing a lot of non-maternity too. I'm only comfortable with the pants that have the secret belly so my clothing choices have started to dwindle so I've started looking at eBay and discovered that Motherhood Maternity sells leggings and petite pants so I've added a couple pairs of each to my wardrobe to get me through the next few months.

Stretch marks? no new ones.

Sleep: Some nites are better than others. I'm up at least once a nite to go to the bathroom and can only really sleep on my left side or sitting up so lots of rearranging but every once in a while I find the perfect position and can sleep through most of the nite.

Best moment this week: I haven't throw n up in a couple of weeks, and since some days I'm still uber nauseous I'll take it.

Food cravings: nothing really, I'm just happy to be able to eat most things.  Still can't do anything super sweet or soda or coffee or tea but I can eat most meat now without wanting to hurl so that's something

Gender: no idea and we won't know until December when Dumpling makes his/her appearance

Labor Signs: I started with Braxton Hicks  and some of them are a little intense but nothing sitting with my feet up and drinking some water can't take care of.  I didn't think I started with BH this early last time but Hubz says it was about the same time.  Other than that no real labor signs and it better stay like the for a least 8 more weeks.

Belly Button in or out? my poor belly button.  it looks like a little ledge it's so flat

What I miss: A good glass of red wine and some pasta with red sauce oh and sushi I REALLY miss sushi and wine.
What I am looking forward to: since our 5 year wedding anniversary is this weekend I'm looking forward to time for just me and the hubz, but when we get back it's nothing but baby prep.

Weekly Wisdom: It's true that the second pregnancy seems to move faster, probably because you're chasing after a toddler and can't sit around thinking as much about the impending arrival.

Milestones: The Bean understanding Momma has a baby in her belly.  Now if he'd stop using me as a jungle gym.
