I know it's Tuesday but it's not too far removed from the weekend from me to talk about it. Friday nite I broke out in hives with swollen lips from a reaction to I don't know what. By Saturday the hives were EVERY where (use your imagination) and I though I was going to scratch my skin off. I woke up Sunday and thought I was getting better WRONG! Those damn hives returned in force. By yesterday I wanted to rip my skin off, so I called for an appointment and wound up with a shot in my butt and 12 days worth of oral steroids to hopefully get rid of the damn hives. Today, day 5, they're still here but definitely not as bad.
Oh but wait it gets better. The step-son had a Robotics competition Saturday, and I was all set to go out look ally hivey (<~ yup totally a word). I dropped him off at 7, getting up at 630 on a Saturday when the Bean was actually sleeping in did not make me happy but alas hubby had to hang at home due to our busted water heater (that's a whole other story), and went back home. Just as we're getting ready to leave the house to go up to the competition his coach calls and says he's throwing up. I was kind of disappointed for him because he'd been so looking forward to this day but well I guess the frown on vomitting kids at Robotics competition. Really, what a little vomit amongst competitors. Also, the wee babe was uber fussy with a super snot nose and whining at naseum...yup we're teething, still...again...either way it's HELL!
By Sunday the big kid was on the mend and the Bean was in better spirits, I was still itchy. Now we're into a new week and hoping for less sickness and more normal. Well, as close to normal as we get around here.

Weekend Recap
Remember that concert we were suppose to go to on Friday, to see the handsome Darius Rucker? Well it was a no go. It stormed just as we got int to town and though the concert was rain or shine the Bean was not down with rain. He screamed and was crying hysterically even though he was in the stroller and covered, guess the pool is okay but acid rain not so much. Of course if we had just gotten in the car and waited 20 minutes, which was still plenty of time before the concert started, we would have had clear skies and great weather for the actual concert. Oh well, we'll try again when he's a little older. I spent the rest of the evening lounging around watching Season 3 of the Tudors while Hubz was playing softball.
Saturday, I spent the morning doing more yard work and the early afternoon napping with the Bean. Later in the day we went to watch Hubz play softball then joined some friends over at the in-laws for a little swimming, it was H-O-T. I left swimming early because the Bean was tired, as he should be getting up at 330 and then 7 in the morning, so we went home for dinner and bed. Saturday nite was the same as Friday I laid in bed watching more Season 3 of the Tudors, hubz was still swimming.
Sunday I was exhausted and cranky because this time the Bean was up from 1130 - 115 and refused to sleep and finally woke up for the day at 7. He was whiny and cranky most of the morning, so I knew there was most definitely a nap in both of our futures. The nite before Hubz had taken it upon himself to invite everyone over for swimming later in the day, good thing I was consulted (note the sarcasm), so we wound up with an somewhat impromptu bbq. I'm not gonna lie I was a little ticked that my last free weekend day was being taken up hosting people but that was before my nap. Once I was able to get a nap and the Bean took a good 2.5 hour nap I was in a better mood and happy to have everyone over enjoying the nice weather and each others company.
This weekend the Bean and I are headed to South Carolina, just the two of us, to visit with an old college friend. This will be the first time I've seen her since my shower exactly 1 year ago this Sunday and this will be the first time she's meeting the Bean. I'm super excited since I normally see in her in January but didn't make it down this year due to just getting a grip on breastfeeding after Bean had been so sick. I'm sure we'll have a great visit and I can't wait to meet up with another old friend from my days at UT. Thursday afternoon can't get here soon enough.
I'll leave you with this picture from this weekend at Hubz softball game.

Wedding #1
My sister in law and bestest friend got married on Saturday to the greastest guy. He truely is her perfect match. The day was gorgeous, which was good since the ceremony was outside, and my sister looked beautiful and happy. Of course with any wedding there are hitches and glitches but nothing that she had to worry about because she was the bride. I kept telling her she could borrow my spotlight for the day, since she's not one to be the center of attention like me, of course I just had to steal the spotlight back when I fell of the curb and severly sprained my ankle. I swear...I fall of curbs at least once a week and nothing but the nite of her wedding I sprain my ankle at least it was at the end when everything was all done. It may still be broken I'll fine out when I go see my own doctor this week...fingers crossed it really is just a sprain. Regradless I'm on crutches for at least 2 weeks maybe 3.

Busy Weekend
Last weekend was 4th of July. The step-son came back from Cub Scout camp and we had a very low key gathering with family, it was nice. Sunday we had Church, hubz went on a bike ride with my besties husband, one of the nephew's had a birthday and the step-son left to spend a couple days with my dad and the nephews. Then Monday our busy weekend caught up with me and I stayed home to sleep. I was exhausted before I was ever ready for work so I took a mental health day to sleep and do laundry.
Now I'm prepping for SIL bridal shower this weekend and another nephew's 10th birthday next weekend. The next couple of weekends are packed with family time and QT with the bestie, we're 30 days out. Not mention I started back to school and while I'm mad I'm taking a course that I don't think I should have to take at least I think it's going to be an easy 'A'. SIL wedding is a month an half a way and my 2-year anniversary is two and half months away. It's crazy! I have to get busy on finding hubz a gift to match what he got me last year.
On the baby front, still nothing, but I've decided to take the next 3-months (when getting PG would be great but not great timing)to do nothing. No temping, timing, NOTHING. In October I'll reevaluate and decide if I want to go back to temping. I feel like I tired it for 5 months and it didn't work I can't see how it will. I am going to start taking prenatels when I finish my normal multi-vitamin, just b/c I've read it's good to start taking them even before you get pregnant b/c it helps your body get used to them. We still have 6-months before we should start worrying but I'm frustrated!

Thursday, Friday
Today's Friday!!!! At lease it is for me because I'm off tomorrow which my weekend offically starts this tonite and I couldn't be happier. It's been a long two weeks at work and it's just gearing up for our busy season, summer, so I expect to even more exhausted as time progresses. The silver lining I have lots of mini-vacations with and without hubz scheduled through out the next couple of months.
Expect for Strawberry picking on Saturday, which I SO EXCITED for, we have no big plans for the weekend. House stuff as usual, with a sprinkle of school and Mother's day festivities on Sunday. I already have all the Mother's day cards, except one, and I just have to do gifts for my mom and sisters. Hubz mom is all done and we already know what we're getting his step-mom we just have to pick it up. Besides Septemeber, when there's a birthday every day except for maybe seven, Mother's Day is the next most expensive day for us as far as cards go. Thank goodness for Hallmark and my rewards card.
In unrelated news my work as blocked Facebook. I'm so sad but really just figured it was only a matter of time. Now I actually have to work or find some other way to waste time. Maybe I'll try focusing more on the latter.

Weekend Reveiw
Friday was fantastic. Hubz kind of had an idea where we were going but was still super excited to know he right. We relaxed, with a bottle of champagne and then had appetizers followed by dinner and the fantastic dessert. We spent two hours and way too much money but it was totally worth it! The hotel was great however we both were passed out by midnite, we're so romantic. Saturday was spent doing wedding stuff with SIL and and family thing at her house that nite. Sunday was Church and yard work. All in all a great weekend. The step-son is gone until Friday nite so I'm enjoyng my last week of break before classes start next week and it's back to no free time. It'll all be worth it in the end.
In baby news. I'm still not KTFU. However I just found out that not only are we trying for a baby and my bff but also hubz's bff and his wife are. It'd be cool if we were all PG at the same time. Of course it'll be there seconds and my first but still PG is PG.

Strike Day 9...Weekend Recap (kind of long)
So yes..I'm still on strike. The phrase I get tired of hearing from hubz the most is, "I work and I'm busy." Umm...WHAT THE HELL AM I DOING WHEN I GET UP AT 430 EVERY MORNING!!! So what if I have an office job and most days I'm not super busy. The fact is I like him also work. Add to that going to school, homework from said school, keeping track of my schedule, his schedule and the step-son's schedule it's amazing I ever get anything done, but I do! I often wonder if hubz' dad ever did anything around the house b/c why else would he think it's okay for him to not help with anything unless forced! I did grow up in a house where my dad didn't help with anything and I'll be damned if I'm going to live like that. This is his house too and he should have to help with the upkeep..outside AND INSIDE!!!
So...besides my continuing strike the weekend was good. Hubz put together a little party for me on Friday all the fam was there along with some friends and my newest nephew (not by blood but his parents are like family)Mason. He's perfect! Hubz spent way too much money on presents for me, but I loved them all. See I really do love the man and the way he takes care of me I just wish he'd pull his weight around the house, we are suppose to be a team.
Saturday I spent the morning scrapbooking with my Mason's mom, my favortist SIL and another friend M. Then it was off to a group meeting that was suprising productive and yummy. The group member that had us over fed us, it was great! I met my mom at my aunt's for a bit and b/c auntie had a birthday present for me. It was a beautiful hand painted basket. Now I just have to find somewhere to put it.
Sunday was busy with Church, soccer and then helping hubz at a side job for a couple of hours. When we finally got back home we got the basement unpacked and finally got all the electronics hooked-up. HOORAY...now I only have to use one remote.
All in all not too bad of a weekend. The step-son's done with soccer so our weeks won't be so busy and our weekends are pretty free. At least they will be after the Church family retreat this weekend, wedding next weekend and Thanksgiving.

Weekend Review
The weekend started off not to bad. Saturday the step-son had soccer and then we headed to the pumpkin patch where hubz got us 105 lbs worth of pumpkins for $27. NICE!!! Afterwards he headed off to a poker game leaving me home alone with nothing to do, so I watched Lifetime. Sunday was Church where we found out that there's a retreat we have to go to that step-son has had info about for a month but never informed us of. For 9 he's super irresponsible and hubz doesn't help the situation by doing things for him. I cleaned some of the the house, argued with hubz about his lack of assistance around the house....though he "helps" he just can't say how...read one of two chapters for school and headed to the Elks Lodge to meet the moms for the Skins game. This was my weekend highlight...WE WON!!! So though my anniversary game was tarnished by a lost to the Rams, who by the way whipped up on the Cowboys, we're back on the winning track-at least I hope.
Hubz and I started talking about babies at the pumpkin patch and I think I'm going to stop trying to control the situation and just let what happens happen. Sure I don't want to be pregnant for my SIL wedding in September 2009 and I don't want to be super pregnant for my sister's wedding in May 2010, but in order to keep this from happening I have to plan my baby making around others schedules. So in February when I meet with my GYN/Midwife I'll just talk to her and see what I need to do to start getting ready and we'll take it from there. Hubz and I have agreed we don't want anymore kids after we're 35 so that leaves us about 8 years so we'll see what happens.
