This time last year I was thankful for the fact that the Bean had just been taken off of the special formula he'd been on since his extended hospital visit, what a difference a year makes!
I'm thankful for a healthy little brown eyed boy that melts my heart and has changed me in the last year more than anything ever has.
I'm thankful for a husband whose been so understanding as I figure out the whole mothering thing while still being a wife.
I'm thankful for a job that pays the bills and allows me the flexibility to telework when necessary and work a compressed schedule so I get quality time with my family.
I'm thankful for my family/friends who make this crazy game of life well worth the ride.
I'm especially thankful for the men and women in the military who make it possible for me to have so many things to be thankful. I'm thankful for thier sacrafice of holidays with their own families so that we can all have dinner with ours.
Mostly I'm thankful to God for giving me yet another year on this earth to be surrounded by loved ones and try to become a better person.
Happy Thanksgiving!

It saw this on facebook today.

If that doesn't sum up the month November I don't know what does.

Thankful on Thursday
I've been quite the slacker in blogging this week but in my defense I've been so busy at work that I haven't had time, yes I blog at work my life is too crazy at home during the week to try and blog at home. But since I currently can't seem to find my motivation, not good since I have a to-do list a mile long but I'm trying to focus really I am, I decided I'd do my Thankful on Thursday.
Monday is Memorial Day which means this weekend will be full of BBQ, friends, family and Rolling Thunder. While all of this is sure to be a good time I think it's important for us to remember what Monday is really about. It's about remembering those men and women that gave the ultimate sacrafice in defending our country. And giving thanks for those that choose to continue the good fight. So this weekend go ahead and enjoy your friends, family and good food but make sure to take a minute or two and show thanks for those that have made or make it possible.
To my friends and family that have served or continue to serve I thank you. This thank you should also be extended to their families because while they're not doing the dangerous work that sometimes comes with being a Solider they're still doing a hard job in keeping things running at home and supporting their loved ones so that they can continue doing what they love.
HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY!

Thankful on Thursday
Super busy at work today but just needed to take a moment to remember the things I'm thankful for:
While I am of course super thankful for my baby sister, and my other sister too, this weekend I am especially thankful and proud of my sister from another mother, Lisa. She'll graduate from George Mason University this weekend and I couldn't be more proud of her. I've watched this beautiful young woman grow from an awkward little girl with CRAZY red hair (I'll have to see if I can find a vintage Lisa picture) into an amazing, CRAZY self-assured young woman. I'm thankful for her because of the unconditional love she has shown my baby sister in the many, many years they've been friends. They can go without talking for months and still pick-up right where they left off, that is the sign of a true friendship. Every girl should have a friendship like these two, I know I do, it helps keep us grounded.
So to Lisa Lou, I love ya girl and I'm so proud of your accomplishment and so very thankful that God gifted Destiny, and my family, with your presence in our lives. Congrats GRAD, you did it! Now enjoy a nice glass of bubbly for all your hard work!

It's Thursday, but for me it's really Friday since I'm off tomorrow! With Mother's Day this weekend I thought it'd be nice to be reminded of the reason(s) I get to celebrate on Sunday.

Thankful on Thursday
I'm thankful for a lot of things this week and today but right now the only thing I can think about is coffee. Sweet Java...Joe...Cafe. My little man has not been sleeping well lately, I think it's his teeth but what the heck do I know. What I do know is I'm so sleepy and would just like a solid 5 or 6 hours of sleep, see not even 8. But until that can happen I'll just have a coffee drip permanently inserted into my arm.
Happy Thursday!

Thankful on Thursday
Trip hasn't been sleeping lately. It's like he's on strike. I'm tired! But I'm still thankful for him! What I'm most thankful for this week though is the great news we got at Trip Neuro appointment on Monday. We're going to be redoing his EEG on St. Patty's day and if it's clean my baby will be med free by the end of March! I couldn't be happier and more relieved and I'll be even more so once the EEG is done and we have the results that all is well. At that point I think I'll be ready to post about the whole ordeal that took place when my little guy was just 3 days old.

Thankful on Thursday
I'm having a pretty craptastic week. So I'm trying to focus on what I'm most thankful for even though I feel like there's not much to be thankful for right now because I feel like I'm stuck in quicksand with a black cloud hovering up above and with no control of what the outcome will be. I digress today I'm most thankful for my little blessing:
BunnyLanePhotography
Right now he's the reason I get up in the morning and come home at nite. I know things have to get better eventually and until they do I'll focus on him to remind of what's important and why I push on.

Thankful on Thursday
Seems like forever since I did a thankful on Thursday post. We made it through another year and another holiday season, which I am infinitely grateful for, and now that we're on the other side of it all I'm thankful that the Bean was here to celebrate Christmas with us. I'm also thankful that this time last year God answered our prayers to bless us with a wee babe and while his first days on this earth weren't necessarily what we'd expected everything worked out and he is growing and thriving. I'm thankful that I have a job that allows me to pay my bills and enjoy something for myself or the Bean every now and then, even though I'm still waiting on a promotion that I was promised over a year and half ago. Mostly I'm thankful that God has granted me the privilege of being a Momma and getting to experience one more day on Earth and with the Bean in my life.

Thankful on Thursday
It's hard to believe that Christmas is a mere two days away. Where did the last year go? For me it was spent growing my little Bean. During that 9 months I had the most understanding and caring husband and he's what I'm most thankful for. We're kind of having a moment right now where our communication isn't so great and so we're constantly in a state of unease. It was to be expected though we just had a baby and that precious little babe wound up in the hospital for 10 days at 3 days old. Then upon leaving the hospital the babe was on a special diet and feeding schedule which would stress out even the most veteran of parents. But through it all hubz has been there to hold me up when we got bad news and celebrate with me when we got good news. I have several friends that remind me often that I never wanted kids or to get married and now look at me. Married 3 years and with a beautiful baby boy. I hate to sound cliche but hubz completes me. He balances me out and reminds me that I can still have fun while being a grown-up. And while there are many things about him that drive me insane I wouldn't pick anyone else to be on this journey of life with.

Thankful on Thursday
Happy Thanksgiving! I always look forward to Thanksgiving because there's nothing I love more then a reason to eat an abundance of food and then vegging out on the couch watching football, I really am every man's dream wife. Also, it marks the beginning of the holiday season. Today we should all take a minute to think about those things we are most thankful for in our life, although I think we should take a minute to do this everyday.
I'm most thankful for a family that loves me and that I love. Sure they're loud and crazy but I couldn't imagine life without any of them, this includes the in-laws too. We are all a product of our families they shape who we are and while there are days when I'd love to get them all in a room and say WTF ... that's family.
I'm thankful for the blessing that is my little Bean. That little guy has changed my life, for the good. While his first days on this earth were a little rough, I knew that God wouldn't have given me something I couldn't handle and that he gave me a husband that would be beside me every step of the way.
I'm so thankful for my husband. He's endured my lack of sex drive during 9 months of pregnancy and now me trying to find my way back afterwards. It's bumpy right now but I know we'll find our way.
I'm thankful for the chance to wake-up everyday and look for the good in my life. I may not be quite where I expected to be at this point but I've got quite a few things I never expected to have at this point as well. I know God has a plan and I'm just going to let him guide me down the right path.
On this day when we're most thankful what are you thankful for?

Thankful on Thursday
With only 7 days till Thanksgiving I find myself reflecting on the past year. This time last year I was once again in a funk because another month had passed that I wasn't pregnant. Little did I know that we'd be celebrating this holiday season with a little Bean or that following right behind the entrance of the Bean would be another of God's little gifts joining our crazy family.
-I'm thankful that my little sister had a healthy pregnancy and that she'll be meeting her third and final little boy this afternoon.
-I'm also thankful that this little gift and my little Bean will be so close in age and get to grow-up together, something my sisters and I didn't have.
-I'm thankful that my sister has found a man that loves her unconditionally and is a good father and step-father to my nephews.
-I'm thankful that after a rough few years my dad and I have a relationship again.
-I'm especially thankful for a husband that loves me unconditionally.
-I'm thankful that though the Bean had a rough start to life it appears things are turning around and he's going to be okay!
-I'm thankful that I wake-up everyday, by the Grace of God, and get to live my life the way I see fit.
Mostly I'm thankful for the way my life has ended up. It may not have been what I planned but it was all part of His plan and that's the only person with any control.

Thankful on Thursday
One of my favorite bloggers, Blair at The Heir to Blair, sometimes does a post on Thursday where she talks about some of the things she's thankful for that week. I thought I'd start doing this, on the weeks I can remember, especially since lately all I can think about is things I don't have. When I know that focusing on the negative does nothing but bring you down. So:
1. THE BEAN!!! I'm most thankful for this handsome little boy that God blessed me with. We had a rough start together. First with the unplanned c-section then with his 10 day unplanned hospital stay, but now I think we're hitting our stride and I can't wait to see what God brings us next.
2. I'm thankful for my friends. They're the family I got to pick, not that there's anything wrong with the family God gave me. They give me perspective when I've lost the big picture and they pick me up when I'm hard on myself.
3. My family, as dysfunctional as we maybe, have shaped - good or bad - into the person I am.They've taught me patience and that we all take different paths to get to the things we want and while we might not always agree we're always family.
4. At a time when I'm not getting much sleep I'm also thankful for COFFEE! Having a newborn and working 9-hour days is hard but as long as I get my cup of coffee I some how make it through. Thank goodness this newborn phase doesn't last forever.
What are you thankful for?
